Submitting Your Portfolio
If you are interested in becoming an illustrator for Culturatti Ink, please submit COPIES of some of your best work to the address listed below.

Since our books are all about diversity of every kind, is important that our illustrators are experts in depicting a wide range of nationalities, ethnicities and architectural design structures.

After review of your portfolio, we will contact you with our decision.

Due to the number of portfolios that we receive, please be advised that your pictures will NOT be returned to you. Please allow 8-10 weeks for our review process.

Approval Process
If Culturatti Ink selects you as an illustrator, you will be provided with a storyboard of the book. You will be given a production timeline with your storyboard.

Each page in the storyboard will give you all of the information that you will need to illustrate each picture along with character descriptions and location descriptions. We will include specific picture requirements such as colors, character heights and ages. You will work with a team that includes the author and director. Open communication is essential to this process.

You will be required to submit a rough sketch proof for WRITTEN approval PRIOR to starting the final picture.

Once you have received written approval directly from the director, you may start the final picture. Once you have completed the approved picture you may submit your illustrator invoice for payment. Your illustrator invoice must allow for Net 15 payment terms.

Payment Policy
Illustrator royalties are paid on a quarterly basis. Published illustrators will receive detailed quarterly statements explaining sales and royalty breakdowns. Percentages paid to each illustrator vary according to your specific contract.

Donation Statement
Culturatti Ink gladly donates a portion of every book sold to a charitable organization focusing on either women children or both. The organization is chosen at the sole discretion of Culturatti Ink.

Neither the illustrator nor author has any authority or participation in this decision making process. Authors or illustrators that are not comfortable with our donation policy should not consider Culturatti Ink for publication.
